Audi's AQH, AVP, AYS and BCS were 4.2-litre, 40 valve V8 engines that powered the Audi D2 S8 from 1999 to 2003. Effectively replacing the 4.2-litre 32 valve AHC/AKH engines, key features of the 40 valve AQH/AVP/AYS/BCS engines included: A cast aluminium alloy block with 90-degree ‘V’ angle; Die-forged steel crankshaft with five main bearings; W/that said, the handling of the RS5 will be significantly better than the Stock S6. The “feeling” or the grunt of the engines & the SOYP feeling (in terms of acceleration) will be very different. If you’ve not driven the RS5 be sure U do, it takes some time to “learn” how to drive it to maximize the NA V8 vs the TT V8 U currently have. Further, vs. the B6/B7 S4 you'll end up with a lighter vehicle AND more fuel efficient as you don't have the big gluttonous 4.2 V8 WHICH not to fear monger here, can be a 10,000$ repair bill just waiting to go off if the timing chain rods/tensioners go on you. I'll say this - I get to drive every model Audi and I get to track a good number of The 4.0 has a rather sophisticated version and hopefully this new Audi system will keep too many carbon deposits from forming. Our 4.0's have large oil droplet accumulation and small oil droplet accumulation mechanisms. The old 4.2L V8, in the RS4 e.g., was notorious for carbon deposits as early as 10,000 miles! Ack! I guess it depends on what you want. If you get the 4.2 you have to understand that the power you have is what you have to live with forever unless you dump piles of money into it to make it fast. The 4.0T is a monster and makes a shithouse of power. If you get bored with it you can flash a stage 1 tune to it and have massive gains. So I been thinking my best bet is to go with the little less prestigious S5 under the RS5. But, it is what it is. I have read that the the 3.0T can hit 500+hp and about 500fpt. .
