The recalled 120-volt cords, known as "convenience charge" cords, plug into conventional household outlets and were provided with 2012 to 2015 Ford C-Max Energi wagons, 2012 to 2015 Ford Focus Ford C-MAX - Battery or Alternator. Having problems keeping charge in battery,the battery is only 12 months old but with this cold spell the battery does not seem to hold its charge,could any advise whether this could be a battery problem or as i have been told it could be a alternator problem. This is done to maximise fuel economy. My theory on the battery drain (which seems to be the case on my C-Max) is that the faulty Glow plug relay is the cause. There is a known issue with the water ingress to the Glow plug relay module which I suspect only shows up when the engine is running. A lot of early C-Max's had this problem. And Ford had a tough time fixing it. It would appear that Ford never really found the root cause of the problem but they knew something was draining the battery. I've heard of problems like yours where swapping the battery for a new one fixes the problem, even though the original battery is apparently ok and works fine in other cars. Edited by: Ravenger 58. I had the battery changed a few months ago because it wouldn’t start on a cold winter morning. But this summer, twice now I’ve had to boost it! Its definitely not because of the cold, so not sure whats going on. As of right now, the car won’t turn on, so I’ll need to boost it… again. C-Max Is to Hybrid as Prius Is to, Well, Hybrid.
